Iyengar Yoga
The Iyengar method of Yoga was developed by B.K.S. Iyengar. In Iyengar Yoga, every part of the body is acted upon with intent, precision and intelligence. The beauty of this method lies in the precise instructions and attention to correct body alignment. When necessary, supports such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, or chairs are used to help the practitioner gain a better understanding and overcome any difficulties due to a lack of strength or flexibility.
Vesna has been practising Yoga for over thirty years. She became an Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2008. She also studied Yoga with the Iyengar family at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune, India. She loves how the Yoga postures quieten the mind, and bring awareness of the relationship between the body, breath and mind. Her classes encourage conscious awareness of movement and breath, leading towards a deeper connection with the body. Of slower pace but still strong and dynamic, this mindful practice cultivates strength, flexibility, stamina, concentration and relaxation.
